Think you can’t travel internationally with your cataraft? Maybe you THINK you can’t but with one of our “International Travel” packages you CAN. We have been transporting our gear internationally for many years now – to Mexico, Guatemala, Peru and Ecuador.
Neil brought the one pictured below down to Ecuador in December 2016 and another one in 2017; all traveled on the plane as baggage from LAX. You can do it too and transport in Ecuador is a breeze. Lacey brought another one down in 2017 and so did one of Neil’s customers. No problems with transport on the airlines.
“International Travel” package in action on the Rio Anzu, Ecuador.
The entire cataraft dissembled (tubes, frame, oars), placed in the back of an Ecuadorian taxi and ready for transport to the put-in for the Rio Jatanyacu!
Two catarafts, left assembled and placed in the back of another Ecuadorian taxi, ready to go boatin!
This is one of our catarafts ready for bus transport. We left the frame assembled because sometimes the local town buses will take them without complete disassembling.
The proof! Yes, even transport on the local buses! They have a large under bus luggage storage that will hold our “International Travel” packages too. Love my little cat!
This is what it looks like ready to travel from the USA to Ecuador on an airplane (of course). The long frame bag is approximately 10x10x72 inches and the boat travel bag is approximately 32x16x12.
